Little late night CAD score. Ugly but complete running 3700 with a newer 24" Oregon bar. Couldn't pass it up for $50.
I should have all the parts to pretty it up some. Nice to find a mag clutch cover that isn't broken and a starter working properly.
There's a non running 3800 posted locally for $75, has been for months, and the guy won't budge on price. Also a more recent red/black super clean 3.7 for $80. I think the craftsman may come home too if he'll deal.

Are those prices about right/usual for your area?

I got lucky on my clean Craftsman 3.7 for $35.00 on CL. From the same seller I also got a working (didn't know if it worked, took the sellers word for it) 50' microphone for my wife for $25.00, down from $50.00. One of the few times my wife didn't roll her eyes over "Another chaninsaw?".

50-75 for running 3400 series is normal. Up to $100. Cheapest one I got was $25 for a non running 3.7, most expensive was a 4000 for $140. Some are listed for more, but never sell. Around here, unless it says Stihl on it, it's usually pretty reasonable.

Honestly I think $100.00 is very fair for a running good condition 3400. Heck the rear handles sell for $40.00 by themselves. If you part one out you could get $200.00. I Have received several for free as well as up to 50.00. Most all of mine have required some type of maintenance etc. To get running properly.

The batteries must be dead in my outdoor temp sensor. It quit sending. :( PC tells me its 6 degrees, and been dropping.

Gregg,

Same thing happened here. Guessing batts cant take the temps?

Changed batts went on puter, was -15 wind chill showing 0 in the early AM.

Had to move in closer to get signal too.

Glad you were able to pick it up Shawn, should clean up nice. You should pick up the red 3.7 too for $80:) Just saying, haha!

What are the runners?

Glutton for punishment??

For the right price, I'd say no. The 4620 & 4218 are decent saws. The 220 has received some positive reviews. I'm don't know much about the others. The downside of putting money into most small saws is their relatively low resale value. I'm not a fan of parting out clean saws that don't need much work, but financially speaking a new P&C might put a small saw into the Don't Pour Money Into It category.

I have a few of these and have been trying to sell some, and I can't get $60 for them. That's the minimum I want to take for the 2-3 hours of my time I have into cleaning, repairing, tuning, sharpening and testing them.

Any of you guys with abundant S25 series collection of saws/parts have an extra rubber insert for the handle for an S25DA?
