The 475 is actually a Jonsered made saw. Identical to the 2077, if I recall correctly. Next saw up would be the PP 505, similar to the Jonsered 2088.

Yeah I knew about the 2077 I had to do some interchanging of parts.

I have a couple smaller Jonsreds that I use.
Well that sucks, my 3800 has a leak from the crankcase to the chain oil after it gets warmed up, like 10 minutes then it starts puffing blue smoke and loads up. Did a pressure test and it was ok but that was cold. I'll keep you posted

oil pump gaskets?
Not sure, I have changed the pump twice and put 2 gaskets between the pump and case thinking that was the problem so I'm not sure and I'm tired of working on it for the last 3 days

Guess I just can't stand it, the 3800 is in a completely ripped apart way. Going to get new bearings and seals for the saw, it's worth it in the long run. Should be a week to get them so I'll work on another one

My saw took a step toward the right direction. Moved it from the shed to the garage to put the pump in tomorrow. 3yr old Daughter has gymnastics for the first time tomorrow but I think I'm going to have to stay home with my 5 yr old who has a fever. I'll let him crash and I'll go to the garage to work. Really sucks that my garage is attached but it's actually detached as there's no direct access from the house. I have to walk outside to get into the garage.

There's a small engine shop nearby. Saw that he has at least 1 newer poulan in a trash pile out front. Thinking about asking if he had any saws headed for the dump or older stuff people have left that he wants gone.

Well Todd, if it smokes pretty bad hot, sounds like case gasket leaking as the metal expanding as it heats up. Would have said to test the crankcase hot but no, you had to take it apart. No soup for you, back of the line you go. [emoji23]

I would have done some more tests but the flywheel side bearing had more play than it should so it was time to do the tear down. Just had a hamburger so no room for soup anyway. I usually have some parts on hand but they got used on something.
Gotta love the kids and all the things they bring into our lives. I would talk to the saw shop people as soon as possible, might be a treasure waiting. I have a handicapped son that is still with me, he is 44 and fairly easy to take of.
3400 Countervibe for sale locally. Supposedlu running. $60 OBO. I have one running Stihl saw and 2 others in pieces. Last thing in the world I need is another and my wife agrees.

there isn;t a case gasket, just sealant between the case halves. I'm guessing that's the issue . Seeing as he has it apart, resealing it should fix the problem.
