oak seedling planting

When is the best time to plant bur oak seedlings? I know we should do it soon, but, now, or wait a couple weeks?

I am in Central Kentucky. We are just starting spring. Have cool nights, some warm days, and some cool days.

My recommendation would be as soon as possible.

If you are worried about frost, the trees will have a secondary bud so that they will re-leaf in event of frost kill of the first leaves that come out.

I planted a white oak seedling about 2 weeks ago and the leaves haven't popped yet, though the buds are really swollen, so they should soon.
