I've been wondering about oil pump capacity for the dolmars esp with bars over 24" On a cold day even a 24 can be a "stretch" for the oil pump, esp if I'm using a cheap (over-tacked) bar oil.
I was thinking about increasing pump capacity by adding second bb on top of the pump spring ... seems like that should increase downward pressure on the plunger, resisting any inertial tendency the relatively heavy plunger to "float" over the pump chamber. The idea would be, to increase plunger compression, and thereby increase the oil flow (even if doing so may increae the rate of wear on the little plastic nubbie that operates the plunger)
any thoughts ...
