Old Wayne Chipper

I have an old 16" Wayne drum chipper that makes terrible chips. It runs great but it doesn't seem to matter where I adjust the blades to. The bed seems a little worn out but i wouldn't think that should make as big a difference as it does. Anyone have a clue whats up or even an owners manuel that could help?

On a drum chipper the bed knife or anvil is just as important as sharp knives in my opinion.
