Got an old Olympk 254 given to me yesterday, it is pretty clean and seems strong. The gas cap says it runs 20:1 mix. Any body here run one? Do you really need 20:1 or can you get by with good quality oil and a thinner mix.

I ran mine with 50:1 mix (JASO FD oil) but the coil went out on it one day and it died while cutting an alder. I got another working ignition for it, but by then the ex old lady had tossed the saw. If I still had that saw I would run it at 42:1 which is 3oz. per gallon like I run all my saws (designed for 50:1). You can run it on 32:1. 20:1 is overkill.
