Opinion- Drop Starting vs Starting On the Ground

depends on the girlfriend :msp_biggrin: someday's on the ground ,sometimes between the legs ....when lucky she drops. :wink2:
 
I never really though about that, they were actually designed to be started with your left hand eh?

Yeah, why is the starter rope on the left side of the saw - using the right tends to pull the bar towards your legs, unless you are very deliberate at avoiding that! :givebeer:
 
Surely, but drop starting is the safest way, with most saws, if you do it the right way (left hand on the pull handle). :msp_biggrin:

My left arm is stronger and that's the arm I drop start with. The P50 I built has so much compression it's tough to get the rope out further than 12"s cold. I would love to see somebody drop start it cold, I tried once and I don't believe it can be done.
