Thanks. You have any ideas on a source of a recoil spring?

That F-M recoil starter is common to a lot of old saws. Looks just like the one on an RA model.

There's a spring on EBay for a 750-850. That might work

On further research on Acres' site the 750-850 seem to be a completely different saw and much smaller. I doubt if the recoil spring will work. Maybe some of the old big Homelites use the same spring

Being a Fairbanks Morse starter, there should be parts readily available - possibly even new. The older Stihl used them, many US saws of the 60s and 70s did...
