Hey guys, this d00d could use some help. I tried a bit but something like this might be for the pros. :)


Just a n00b looking for a recoil or recoil spring for his Pioneer Farmsaw.....

I just read the other post, the yoke spring (fits on take up spool) is PN 432129. I think they are also NLA. If you have the original pieces I think the right diameter piano wire (hobby store) could be fairly easily crafted.

I am looking for a crank for a 50 or 60 series saw if anyone has one they would be willing to part with. Short block would be good also. I got a P51 with s snapped crank on the clutch side I want to replace. Should be a good winter time project if I can find one. This saw is just too pretty to not fix :D
 
The P50 51 52 and P60 61 62 saws used the same bottom end as long as they are Pioneer
The Pioneer Partner P52 and P62 will fit but use the ignition the same as a P42. If you use a newer jug you will need the ignition and flywheel.
I have a P50 base with P60 piston, P62 cylinder and uses a P42 ignition and flywheel.
Some cylinders are also skirted on the bottom.
Another option is bolt on an ignition from a 410 Homelite. They are for sale on ebay but they want big $$$

I came across this while looking for possibilities for a new crank for a pioneer p51. Just one question though. How do you tell if a saw is only pioneer vs. pioneer/partner?

ETA: I would assume they are clearly labeled, but better ask before I spend or trade for something that I cant use.

If they are Pioneer lime green they are pioneer, the Pioneer Partners are partner yellow. The P62/52 Pioneer Partner will also work.
Yuor P51 top end will also fit on a P62 bottom end as long as you use the 51 coil and flywheel

So this would be a pioneer/partner? And I should be looking for a P51,P52,P62 crank that would be a drop in replacement for this one?

No, that one is pure bred Pioneer.

New ad on ebay for a Poulan Pro 655. Opening bid is $1,050. New NOS saw. Would be nice to have.
A grand saw with a grand price tag. I remember seeing a knew one of them in a store years ago. The asking price would be inline for a new one with a 32 inch bar and chain.
 
OK fellas ... just to back-track a bit ... DSS and I were talkin' carb kits back in post #'s 6155-6160 (on page 411) ...

Anyways ... the local small engine peeps wanted anywheres from 15-20 all the way to 28 Canuck bucks for the Tillotson RK-23-HS (carb) REPAIR KIT (that weren't even real McCoy Tillotsin), so, I ordered the kit from Northwood Saw for 9.85USD + 4.22USD for [USPS_INT] First Class Mail International shipping (Visa got 14.65CAD out of me based on an exchange rate of 1.0412225 ... when the B. of C. noon rate on the 18th was 1.0163, in case anyone is checkin') on the 18th, had to give a final go-ahead to Northwood the a.m. of the 19th and the kit showed up in the Canada Post mail today ...

I'm a little concerned about transit damage: the rubber diaphram with the metal disc and short threaded stud had the threaded stud portion poking out of the side of the mailer envelope like it had been crushed somewhat ... how critical is the shape of the metal disc portion of said diaphram?

It looks like the threaded stud portion of the diaphram part is a little the worse for wear but still serviceable, however, not having worked on these Pioneer chainsaw Tillotson carbs, I don't know what is critical and what isn't.

Would an experienced rebuilder weigh in on this possible issue please?

Hey guys,
NEED SOME HELP-GUIDANCE!

Recently became addicted to my Poulan Pro 455/ Pioneer P-45 as a bucking saw.
I can put together another one if I get a handful of parts. (crankcase, oiler, and top and bottom wrap)
She will look rough as the clutch cover and cylinder cover are beat. Besides P-45 parts will P-42 parts fit the bill?

How far can I push it down the line as to interchangable parts for my 455?
P45 poulan455
P42 poulan 405
any other close matches for body parts and such.
