I have a couple more questions for this project. The IPL states the oil seals are part number 427656. I searched and found an old post where it was stated that they cross-reference to 5662 for double lip and 5652 for single lip. Has this been verfied? And based off of my pictures would you keep cleaning and does the wick look usable?

I appreciate all the help.
Jason.

@fossil would be your best help for that.

I'll second fossil or perhaps pioneerguy600 (Jerry) for answers to most questions.
I'm going to add my favorite bit of information; when Poulan purchased Pioneer they prefaced all Pioneer part numbers with 507. Your 427656 became 507427656. Just a little thing that may help when searching for parts. That bit of knowledge was imparted to me by a gentleman at Bailey's (Thank you) many years ago.

Jason,

If I recall the seals I used were CR5662 and they were too tight on the crankshaft as far as manufacturer specs for interference shaft to seal.
It will be OK if the crank where the seal rides is 9/16" (0.563") and I may be confusing the tight fit with the seals I put in my 3200.

Can you verify the diameter of the crankshaft where the seal sits? That would help me find something more suitable if need be.

The width of the CR5662 is 0.25" which stood a bit proud of the case as the 427656 is only 0.200" That didn't create an issue though.

The tank wicks are available. I would tend to try the wick as is and if enough fuel isn't flowing, get a new one.

There is gasket between the tank and the tank cover. #13 on the IPL PN 428146

I did make one but it was a pain in the butt. If I had to do it over again I think I would have used Moto Seal instead.

Great info Tim, thank you. I just got to work so I'll have to measure the crank in the morning. I just cleaned all that old gasket off today. There is one available on eBay that I'll have to wait until Friday to order. This is a neat saw that I am looking forward to running for a bit and adding to my vintage collection.

Thanks again. Jason.

Here is some better pics all in decimal.
