Pollarding?

I have done some pollarding for a few local landowners who use these trees only for fire wood production. When they get to a certain diameter they get harvested then pollarded and allowed to regrow. Yes the epicormic regrowth is weak, but they are not close around anything important or expensive if they were to break or fall.

There is a right way to do it and most definitely a wrong way.

I could show you pics that would make your hair fall out of many trees that have been destroyed by contracted power line clearance crews around our local area. Some were very beautiful large significant trees. :dizzy:
