poplar in the south- what is current price?

I've been selling pine logs here for about $200-220 per thousand. Does anyone know how much poplar is going for? Totally different tree than the poplar we had up north. Also oaks, ash, and sweet gum here in the southeast.

Grade logs were at $500mbf but are down to $420mbf at present and grade red oak went down some too.

Poplar is worth more than pine, but not much.

not sure on the price but i was at a mill in rock bridge VA and the entire mill yard was full of log trucks loaded with poplar

I love thoes old mills back there. we used to go to one about 50 miles from sweet briar. Have you by any chance herd of a man named John Tomlin?
