Has anybody thought of using a conveyor to load a dump truck or dump trailer while out cutting firewood, instead of lifting rounds into a higher bed?
HighPowers dumptruck really would be a handy setup, and sometimes they can be found for a reasonable price, certainly won't overload it either. The loading height, if a tractor or skidsteer isn't handy would make for a lot of work.
So I was thinking about a conveyor that could do the job of getting the rounds from the ground to inside the truck, and for a really full load, a guy could stack the rounds inside the truck as well, make the trip efficient. The conveyor, could be towable, or maybe mountable to a 2" hitch extension, would only have to be long enough to get the wood into the bed.
Any thoughts, or am I out in left field on this one?
