Poulan pro 42cc wont stay running

Yeah, I look at what a saw sells for in used, good running state.....$65 around here. If you want another 42cc Poulan, check out VMInnovations refurbs. Probably ~$90. BUT....probably will need to tune richer when you get it.

The pictures make the cylinder wall look pretty bad. It didnt seem bad to me when i was looking at it. But wjat do you guys think.
Does the piston feel smooth or is it rough to the touch? Looks scored for sure, but I can't tell with the dirt. Honestly, I'd buy a used still for the cost of the new saw. Only been 3 months? You can try to take it back.

So what causes that oil slurry all over everything? If he ran it at a proper mix, and its the sidewall that is scored (which I assume is from the ring chipping or ring pin walking out), would that be covered under warranty?

Most likely unburned/burning fuel slipping past the piston rings and out the exhaust. The exhaust should be pretty gummy too.
