I saw where somebody has a "6401 converted to 79xx." It's a Makita. Wondering how this works. What all do they have to do to convert a saw? Is it going to be just slightly heavier, but with quite a bit more power? What other brands/models can you do this to? I am assuming that the power to weight ratio being improved is the advantage here? How far does one take this? Could you do this and also do woods porting and muffler mod, etc. to jack up a saw? I am all for improving power to weight but wondering what the limits are. Thanks.

Sorry. Just seen this. You will notice no difference in weight. Just a huge power increase. Depending on what combination you throw together. A slight muffler modification is the hardest thing to do. And it’s not that hard. Lol.
