Ladies and Gentlemen, I sell a lot of Elm for camping where I live. I assume most of it is Chinese Elm, given my location. I cut and split a lot of it. I know when its dead and dry it splits pretty easy. Wet is stringy and a pain in the rear. But today I came across some that was darker in the center and harder than crap! I've been told that there is Red Elm around here, but I don't know if I've ever come across it before. There was no bark so I cant submit photo of that, but do have some pics of logs.
Can anyone tell me if this is Red or not?
