Got to play with my Redmax EHP 621 today what a horse! This saw stock is real impressive especially for the money But after it is modified it is a go getter. If you guys get a chance you should try one out even if it is a standard version I think you will be pleasantly suprised!

62cc engine and weight of 12.5 lbs. is what is advertised. It sure does not feel that heavy to me it feels like about the same weight as a PS5100 dolmar.

I signed on with Redmax to become a dealer recently, after asking about them on this forum.
When the guy came down to sign me up, he ask me if I wanted him, to send me some loaners to try out.
I said sure, and for the saw I told him to send me the 621.
He did, and I got a brand new in the box 621, to take out and beat up!!!
So me, and a old time logging buddy of mine, took the 621 out the other day, and layed down some fair sized populars with it.
I have to say that saw really impressed me, especially sense it was new and not broken in or anything.

But I knew the real test would be with my buddy.
Hes a old time logger thats, been cutting trees sense back in the days of the crosscut.
He always uses his fav 066, and wouldnt be easily impressed, and sure not shy about giving me his opinion, about anything!!lol
To my surprise, he had nothing but good things to say about the saw.
He liked the power to weight, and the balance of the 621.
But probably the best endorsement, for Redmax is that he said when I got my stock in, that he was going to buy one.
Now you have to know my buddy to realize what a endorsement that is!!!

The only thing that I hope is that people in my area will give them a try.
Most loggers around here, are diehard fans, of the two major brands.
So I dont know if they will sell.

It says on the spec chart, that it has 4.1 HP, but it must be all on the low end, of the RPM scale, because this is just about as torqueist saw, that I have ever used.

Stock vs. Stock it is dead even with a ms361 mabybe when it is broke in it is faster than the stihl. I was running a brand new 621 out of the box with vanguard chain against a broke in ms361.

Who makes Redmax?
It is chinese as far as I remember.

It is also called Zenoah, or something like that.

By the way, why has EHP disappeared from the Sponsor list??
Any conection with Jokers beeing banned?

Zenoah Komatsu
From Japan, with the main American Office in Georgia
Komatsu is the same company, that makes Heavy Equipment, such as Dozers Loaders, etc.

That info is correct on komatsu, and Zenoah is an old manufacture of small engines. They built the Green Machine 3000 trimmers of years ago.

Zenoah

I believe that the Zenoah engines are also highly regarded by ultralight aircraft enthusiasts. That in itself is a credit to their reliability and performance. Here is a link to a site featuring a Chainsaw Master who uses the product :http://www.zenoah.net/
Only problem I have, in looking at his favorite model saw specs, is the advertisement claim that states :
World-first idle start chainsaw
Chain does not move at the time of starting.

My Makita DCS520i, another fine Japanese name in the world of equipment, does that routinely and with one pull. My model saw was first introduced in 1987.
So much for truth in advertising...where are those WMDs anyway?

Makita chainsaws not Japanese

Makita chainsaws are made in Germany by Dolmar. Only the color (and mabye the price) are different.

Brian Ruth travels all over the world with his RedMax chain saws. But he comes to to The Cutting Edge to get them tuned up!:dizzy:

Brian was in last summer and dropped off two of the G621's to get them fixed.

He's from Pennsylvania.
