The only graphic I ever saw showed the saw as black & yellow, so I guess that was wrong.

I don't mind making them work, sometimes they even work as they should, but I don't seem to have patience to every try to make them look right.

Thanks! I understand...the Acres site only shows a yellow one. I think the reds were the forerunners, as this one has a very low 3 digit serial number. Either way, fortunate it is all there and in great shape.

My SL11 gets to me on the 11th, really looking forward to it. If I can fix the reported cracked fuel line I hope to sink it into wood shortly thereafter.

Got the Mighty Mite going... Got an aluminum pipe plug (didn't want any galvanic corrosion from steel or brass) to kill the auto oiler. Put a carb kit in. Add fuel, oil, and pull... It started after a few, but wouldn't stay happy... So in to the computer, look up the carb model, look up the initial setup, dial that in, and it runs like a clock... Still smokes a bit, but that should burn off with some use as its likely just leftover from the bar oil dumping to the case. I buried it in a 24" hunk of pine I have in the driveway for test cuts. While it doesn't enjoy that, it did it if I didn't lean on it. That's an impressive little saw, acknowledging the limitations. I think I'm going to enjoy that one next time I have to do some limbing.

Picked up a 2mg mall yesterday. It will more then likely become just a parts.saw as.the exterior is pretty rough. Anyone needing parts?

If anyone is interested, I just listed a neat little Remungton in the classifieds.
They could be very close as they are both 3/8" studs on 1 1/4" centers.
I have a pair of PL/SL-4 and PL-5 on hand but the outer has the bottom section ripped off. Common on all saws that have thrown a chain or three.
I'm still looking for a good PL-5 piston for a project saw.

Did a comparison last night and the XL-12 outer should do just fine on a PL/SL-4 or PL-5.
I could also use an exhaust stack or muffler for a PL/SL-4 or PL-5 along with a PL-5 piston.
Always, always lost as it's the first thing removed to check the cylinder and not reinstalled if the piston is toast.:bang:
is that the same stack as the homie c5 uses? got one
Nope, I just tried one and the bolt centers are too far apart. An XL-12 stack is too close together.

Anyone know the ring thickness on an SL11? I know it's 48.5mm diameter.
Ring thickness will be 1/16" or 1.5mm if you get them from 'The Greek'. Rings don't normally get to be 3/32" thick untill you get over 2" bore.
The 48.5 mm bore is an odd size. You will find that you are limited to a very few choices on end gap style. You will need to file for the locator pin.
I have a pair on hand for a PL-5 (same 48.5 bore) but need a better piston for the project saw before I do the overhaul.
