Remington Cylinder head replacement. Need advice.

Hey guys

So got a couple remingtons in my collection that have buggered pistons and heads. I have raped some parts from them as well to resurrect other remmys.

BUT....

Is it possible to use a modern equiv other branded head on these things like you would just for eg the dolmar with stihl head combo.

Just thought id ask as although im not looking to tackle them right now. I would like to resurrect them one day and parts of course are becoming harder to find.

I have seen pretty ugly pistons run on old gals like that

A piston intended for a Homelite XL 925 with the skirt shortened fits perfectly. Easily done on a small lathe.

New cylinders for SL/PL-55 are mostly nonexixgtant.

You are going to have to measure the bore on that to determine if it is the 65cc PL-5 or the 82cc PL-55.
