I was looking at the picture of your friction saver. I could be wrong, but isn't that pulley a little light for this purpose?

7000lbs or31.1Kn CMI micro pulley.

Those little pulleys are rated at 5000 Lbs. and the pulley is only taking about half the load, so theoretically, it is within the 5400 pound strength requirement.

If you are refering to the bend radius, it is bigger than just two rings, so that is better.
