Does anyone know the skinny on this nasty stuff? I have burned it sparingly for years, I don't know all the science in the wood, but it burns like a rock and smells like poo poo. It makes good heat and will produce moderate ash.
Me have tons of it around, it is now classified as a noxious weed in our state. Absolutely horrible to get, stickers, and will absolutely eat chains. But it is free, all you want anytime.

we have old fields that Autumn Olive has taken over, and I have found that it is not worth the time to even cut(beside the thorns, the shoots all want to simply fall out as you cut them). It suckers the next season making the problem even worse in the long run. We have to doze them and then spray them the following year to have any knock down. The only good that seems to come from them, is that bear like to stuff themselves with be berries just before winter.
