promised my SIL an axe head i had around here some where. when i found it and cleaned it up i saw it is stamped "S A W Sweden". wondering how good an axe this is and whether i should go along and give it to my SIL or give him my other one.
sorry if this is in wrong thread. couldn't figure out where to put it. mods, please move if necessary.

I think it's an acronym for Swedish Axe Wetterlings.

Probably a keeper Jerry.

EDIT: Nope, it's Swedish Axe Works, according to a video I just found. But it's a Wetterlings.

Wetterlings headstamp...

Wetterlings make nice axes and hatchets, pretty much on bar with Gransfor Brucks but less expensive. Also sometimes you can find a deal on Husqvarna axes/hatchets which are really wetterlings. A couple years back I got my boys husqy/wetterlings hatchets for Christmas. I got some grief from my wife, but the boys sure like them. I figure it's one of those tools if you get them a good one, it'll last them for a lifetime.
