Guess it's time to ask for help...

Stihl 025, runs really good. Crank seals checked good, fuel lines and impulse line checked ok, 140 lbs compression...
I cut two post oaks with it yesterday, cut into firewood pieces, so used it till it was good and hot, everything fine. Until...it began to drop rpms at idle, then died. Had to choke it to start it so it was briefly starved for fuel. It faltered, died, I started it again, this time it ran fine for another hour.
I'm running out of ideas for the cause, so I wonder has anyone else seen this and used a sealant on the fuel line/primer bulb/impulse line connections and fixed the problem? I went through the carb, used a sonic cleaner on it so I think it's not a plugged orifice, chamber or channel. Muffler/exhaust is not clogged.
I'm seeking wise counsel on this--thanks for any help.
