Shocking chainsaw

Turns out, on some ignition modules you can get a shock from touching the bare end of the kill wire that goes from the coil to the ignition switch. That I didn't believe was possible as everything on the primary side of the coil should be very low voltage. On this particular saw, the ignition switch is on the handle and just grounds the coil to the handle to kill the ignition, however the handle has no direct electrical contact to the engine through screws, just relies on part of the handle being pressed against the body and with passing of time this was no longer a secure connection. Big clue here was the owner finally offered the fact that the ignition switch wouldn't shut the engine off when the "shocking" occured. I installed a screw in the cylinder and one in the handle and hard wired them together. Problem solved.
