slant fin 044 jug on a 440?

Has anyone done this, put an early 044 jug on a newer 440? I think the stroke is the same, but I suspect there are more factors to consider. I'd rather learn by asking than by trial and error, it being cheaper that way...

Yes its done frequently, the only difference between the cylinders is a heat shield on the later case. Thats what I know.

Well, me and my big mouth. Somebody bought the jug I'd been looking at the past week. It would have been nice to hear that 10 mm jug sound. Maybe another time. Till then, I'll use the comp release and be glad for it, and not having to disassemble a saw.

Though I have figured out the technique for starting the 064, so I could probably have managed just fine.

I'm mighty pleased to have found a like new 036 last week. Now the 0 series is as complete as I need it to be.
