I have a barn with a gambrel roof and 10' eve height. My OWB stack is at 9' elevation. How far away from the barn should I place the boiler. I don't want to spend another $90 on 3 more feet of insulated stack, although I guess I could.

Also, does the loading door have to be facing west or south? I thought somebody told me that one time.

BTW, I built the entire thing myself. When the hot water starts pumpin' I'll post some pics. I am completely obsessed with the project now and every free ounce of brain power I have is going into it.

Thanks

Welcome to arboristsite !

Seems the rule of thumb is 3 feet above anything within 10 feet of the stack.

Not on the south, the north wind will pull smoke out of the door if it is open and a little wind is kicking up.
