Lets do the math.

North Star 37 ton splitter = $1899.99
4 way wedge = $89.99
Log lift = $899.99
This all adds up to $2889.97
Add shipping ????? (unless you pick it up at the store)
Add any applicable tax ?????

If you're only splitting 10 cords a year, you don't need to spend this kind of money.

Read all of the reviews on this model at Northern Tool. It has some deficiencies. (Don't they all?)

I've been looking at the Powerhorse 20 ton splitter ($999.99) from Northern Tool. It even comes with a log table. It splits in both directions.

Here's a video of a guy that make and sells a 4-way wedge for it.

Here's a guy that built a log lift for it.

Go to you tube and do a search for "Powerhorse log splitter"

Hope this helps.

In the 3rd video...Looks like he almost found out how much the motor costs for that thing!! That log just about went north off the log lift onto the engine!!
