I have an Iron and Oak 22t vertical/horizontal splitter and the auto return for the cylinder does not always stay engaged.

I know its a little problem, but it does get irritating hour after hour of having a hit and miss auto-return.

I havent dug real deep myself on the issue just throwing it out there

Thanks

Sometimes the grooves in the detent sleeve get worn. This can be solved by rotating the spool 180 degrees if the valve is a Prince. The Prince valve uses a single ball for the detent so by removing the handle and turning the spool 1/2 turn will cause the ball to ride in a new area on the opposite side of the detent. If the valve is a Energy brand style valve there are 4 balls in the detent so the detent sleeve at the back of the valve should be rotated 1/8 turn.
