First off I'm new here, But I see that I'll have alot of browsing to do.
I have an 048 that is hard to start, when it does start it acts like its flooding out. I took the carb off and and cleaned it put it baack to gether and its doing the same thing. Any ideas on what it can be and what I should do next. I've ran the saw and it was running good now I have this problem.

Now I have rebuilt the carb and put a new fuel line on an filter it starts when the choke is on and will run for a little while butthe it dies and wont start back up. I'm stumped and looking for anything to try.

You may have the wrong gasket under a little plate held down by 3 screws in the carb.
The carb rebuild kits often came with gaskets for several models.Remove the gasket and put in the other one. Be sure the carb is assembled correctly.
