Stihl 026

I have a Stihl 026 I picked up for $50. It did not run when I got it so I bought a new carb, plug and put in fresh gas. It still will not run. I get fire, and it has compression, but even pouring gas in the carb will not get it to run. Any help before I send it for a pricey shop repair would be appreciated.

If i had to guess, your going to have to take the carb off and do a little cleaning up inside the carb.

Fresh gas and oil is a good start.

It is a brand new carb. Brand new plug. Brand new gas.

Check the condition of the fuel filter and fuel line inside the fuel tank.

what is your compression reading? need to check your flywheel key. and make sure the muffler is not carbon up

Could be a bunch of things. Torn intake boot, torn impulse line, soft or torn fuel line, plugged fuel filter, clogged spark arrestor, non-functioning choke, improperly adjusted carb.
