Stihl 038 Clutch Handle Cup Screw

Bit of a conundrum here. I need a cup screw assembly for a Stihl 03 clutch handle. IPL Part number 0000 790 6102.
The local parts store ordered me one, but when it came in, the cup would not fit inside the hole of the handle. Cup diameter too large. Next time I took the handle in and showed him. The handle has part number 1117 792 9100 on it. I was told that wasn't the right handle for the saw. He'd order the right part number. Well he ordered the handle not the cup screw. Suppose to try again tomorrow. BTW, my 038 IPL says my handle number IS 1117 792 9100.

I need an assembly with a M5 bolt probably 18 mm long. An ebay vendor stated the part for an Stihl 044? part number 0000 790 6100 or 0000 790 6103 had a cup diameter of 12 mm. I lost track. I measured mine and it's only 10 mm. I'm guessing the first one ordered by the parts place was 12 mm and the warehouse screwed up.

I need 10 mm od cup (not flange) with a M5 bolt.

Maybe this bolt 1119 791 6000? But it is nla since 2004. It was used up to machine no. X13 052 554.

Yea, the parts guy suggested making a bushing to go inside the hole of the handle and then use a M5 cap screw of the right length to hold it. Kind of jury rigged.

The parts guy who ordered the handle said that's what I wanted to match the cup screw he had on hand. He swears that the Stihl website says the handle is 1117 790 9100 and not the 1117 792 9100 that I found on my Stihl IPL.

So I'm back to looking for the part myself.

Your parts guy is right. The hand guard on the 038 is 1117 790 9100. The 1117 792 9100 was a screw for the hand guard which is nla. This was superseded a few times over the years and the current screw is 0000 790 6102.

Yea your right. I'm getting my numbers all screwed up. My handle has 1117 792 9100 stamped on it. My Stihl 038 IPL does say the handle number is 1117 790 9100 as you stated. I was wrong. So I do have the wrong handle. How I don't know.
From the Stihl 038 IPL, The cup screw assembly is 0000 790 6102 as you stated. That's what he ordered the first time. So I guess he was right all along.

So the problem boils down to identifying what saw the handle 1117 792 9100 belongs to and then what is the part number for the cup screw assembly.

ebay says this belongs to a Stihl 042.

I requested anStihl 042 IPL here and the part number for the handle is 1117 007 1008. So I don't know what to think.

There is wrong information in this ebay listing. The part 1117 792 9100 is a screw assy M5 which is nla since a long time and superseded to the 0000 790 6102 I already mentioned. The 1117 007 1008 is a hand guard for the 042 AV, also nla since a long time. With Stihl parts you always have to go with the IPL part no.
On Stihl parts itself is in some cases a different number which is not the actual part no for that part were it is stamped or molded on.
