Stihl 038AV fuel tank and fuel lines.

I have 2 Stihl 038AV saws I dug outta the barn and both have stale gas. And it's to the point that the fuel lines are melted away. How do you get to the fuel tank on these to replace the filter and fuel lines? Both run if I put a little fuel in the carb.

I have 2 Stihl 038AV saws I dug outta the barn and both have stale gas. And it's to the point that the fuel lines are melted away. How do you get to the fuel tank on these to replace the filter and fuel lines? Both run if I put a little fuel in the carb.

The line can be pulled through the hole in the tank with some big hemostats and some poking with an awl from the carb side. Put the new filter on the new line and thread it back into the hole with the hemostats from inside the tank. A little bit of mix oil on it will help.
