Stihl 044 crankcase question

Did a tear down on my 044 becouse it had an oil leak into the crank. I replaced to gasket but notice theres a small chip where they come together on top of the oil resivour could you J-B weld it or do i need a new case? Would it matter if the oil tank isnt completly sealed?

JB weld will make a good repair, make shure the metal is absolutely free of all oil, let the JB weld harden up and then sand it down flush with the rest of the case edge. I have done this many times and it works well and lasts for years.
