Stihl 050 Bar Code

I'd like to put on a 32 plus inch bar on my 050. Can anyone tell me if bars from other series saws will fit...for example 066? Presently running 3/8, 0.050 chain.

Yes,

It should be the same bar mount pattern for just about everything up to the 066 .

The mounts are the same from an 024-660. A bar from 66 will fit your 390 and 050

Only Stihl made today with the 3002 pattern is the 880. The050/051/070/075/
076/084/088/090/880 are the same.

the 066 takes the 3003 series bar.

I stand corrected!

Knowing that the 070 and up took the big mount, I did not think the 050 was that grown up! thanks!

The 050/051 are the same series as the 075/076, and the 056/045 are the same, go figure. If you open the 3003 bar (.475) to 3002 mount (.525) you have to match up the oil hole too. The bar often isn't tall enough so can't be used fior milling.

Baileys of course.
But check all the Stihl dealers you walk into. I've bought 3002 bars that were 30 years old, and got a great deal on them. Take a 3002 bar in with you, some dealers say the 3003 mount is the biggest.

you can change the tip to 3/8 but youll have to use .063 gauge chain.
