I sold my new 372 today (cut 1 tree) and bought this stihl 064, had 10lbs of compression, and some light scoring in cylinder, think j can fix that part, but the piston might need replaced? What are your thoughts? The rest of the saw seems solid, not beat up. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Here are pics. Can you do a gasket delete on these and still have enough squish?

I have a 038m that the piston was 5 times worse than that :eek:
cleaned it up and replaced rings cleaned up cil and runs verry well.:)
its a see how it goes saw :chainsaw:
i do have a spare parts saw if it craps out on me.:rolleyes::ices_rofl:
so far it has cut a crap load of wood :D
 
Yeah I have used mastermind method of cleaning cylinder for a 346xp that looked worse, I was thinking of a meteor brand piston $40.00, OEM is $127.00 on ebay, thoughts on that?
