Stihl 08S Bar oiler question

Hi Guys,

Like everyone I am in the middle of 2-3 different Stihl saw fix up's and the 08S has me a little stumped.

I have attached photo's of the pump housing. I can see on the clutch drum a pin that I am guessing locates into some sort of " something " not sure what you call it . But can anyone explain what it locates into and would anyone have another 08S that they could send photo's to me off with the side cover off and some photo's of what it is supposed to look it ?
I have the IPL (exploded ) view and I still cannot work it out.

Have you cleaned the crap out of the oil pump? You can see where the pin was sitting.

I think it spins the opposite direction down there doesn't it?

Great pic, I worked on a couple 08s in the long past.
Never the oiler though, and my memory is going quickly.

Yep it's all clean and looks like a brand new one.

But the pin on the clutch drum would have to lock into something somewhere on the bar oiler pump to make it turn and push oil ?

The pin that is in the nut on the crank.
Pull it out and inspect it.

The pin on the crank pushes against the pin in the pump and turns it. Lots of room when assembling so you don't have to have it perfectly aligned.

R u talking about the roll pin ?

Do u have a photo of one assembled ?

He is just saying that the rotating pin stuck in the nut on the crank rotates and just pushes the roll pin around to pump the oil. It is just pushing the slender roll pin, so you won't have to spend hours trying to fit it in a hole.
If the crank/nut pin isn't long enough to engage the roll pin, you need to find out why.
Which is why I asked about pulling the pin out and inspecting, see if the end of the pin isn't worn off or broke.

Rotate that roll pin with your finger,
then you will see what needs to happen with the pin in the crank/nut.
