Saw this posting in Toledo:
Watch what you buy. Chainsaws have a serial number on them. Stihl has a web site for stolen saws. Be sure and write down the serial numbers of your saws. Before you buy one , check the serial number. Even cross reference with the Stihl website. You dont want stolen property. Alot of chainsaws and tools have been stolen as of late in our area. Alot of shaddy characters out there. Stealing from hard working people.

Mine was a Stihl 021.

Has anyone ever heard of a web-listing of stolen equipment?

If there is such a site, I'd love to find it. Not just Stihl but anything. I'd hate to find out that one or two of my harem were bastards.

I would not call them that if they were stolen

If you get a really good deal, then you should use your common sense and try to determine if its a bogus deal, and not buy if it is.

I did a quick web search and couldn't find any site like that.
It would sure help some pawn shops to stay in the clear as well as those poor soules who had their equipment stolen.
