I have a Stihl 020 AVP chainsaw that has a piece broken on the gas tank/recoil housing.
The piece is about an inch and a half square.
I'm wondering what the casing is made of and what the best method would be to re-attach the piece.
I tried using 2 part epoxy for steel with no luck.
Has anyone heard of HTS 2000 aluminum brazing rod? Would this work or would a glue be better?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry man, never been there or done that, but if you could post a picture or two it would probably help with some solutions. I'm sure somebody has the answer. When you get it figured out be sure to post it up, I would like to know what works for ya incase I have the same problem someday.

Welcome to AS!

Thanks fellas.
I'll post some pics tomorrow, so you get an idea what I'm dealing with.
There's a weld shop two roads over that can help, if TIG is the best way to go. (provided the price is right)

Again, many thanks.
