Stihl & John Deere Partnership...?

I've heard a little chatter around here about Deere and Stihl joining in some sort of partnership...heres what I Could find:

It sounds like we will soon be able to go to the local Deere dealer and buy Stihl products, not too much more.

I'm sure we wont be seeing Green & Yellow Stihl saws with deere badging anytime soon.
 
JD dealers now have the option of carrying Stihl but it won't be painted green and yellow. They have had marginal results carrying re badged Echo Olympyk, Remington whatever but it will be interesting to see if this flies. It may create some hardship for existing Stihl dealers particularly in small markets but service may become an issue, a guy selling a $300,000 combine or excavator isn't going to be much interested in a $500.00 saw or $150.00 trimmer sale. Just my .02CDN
 
a John Deere dealer near here in Mayfield Ky has been carrying Stihl stuff since last fall, they had a nice looking display. Their prices were comparable with the other Stihl dealers in the area.
