Got my bossmans ms 180 on my bench he hasnt used it in a year or s[CODE?
][/CODE]o because it would just fire up and quit sovi drained the gas and put fresh in and cleaned the carb and checked the filter all looked ok but it will onlt run on a prime.it has great spark and compression ,is there something im missing

Still fuel delivery issue. Change the filter and a new line maybe.

Could be a few things. Can you perform a pressure test on it? What part of MI are you in?

i dont have anything to do a pressure test .im in Montrose

My boss just thought it might need a good carb clean but i told him that it may need a carb kit and fuel line

Check the kill spark wire where it clips in the little plastic holder at the choke start lever. Mine came loose twice and I finally
put a little super glue there. Nearly drove me nuts figuring it out. The week after I fixed mine a buddy brought his by with the same
problem.At least our carbs got a nice rebuild!!:msp_confused:

An air leak isn't going to keep it from starting. You have a fuel delivery issue.

I had that on one of my 180's and also a 170 and changed the fuel line and filter and now it runs like a top. I also switched to the Stihl can gas for a tank and that seemed to help clean it up a bit more.
