Stihl O24 V Quit On Me!

I Have A Stihl 024 V That I Got From My Dad Who Passed Away Recently. It Has Run Great Until Now. I Did A Little Cutting The Other Day And It Just Stopped On Me. I Replaced The Plug, Cleaned The Filter. It Has Spark And Is Getting Gas, But It Won't Fire. If I Let It Sit For Awhile It Will Almost Turn Over, Then Nothing.. It Has Run Great! Any Suggestions? Thanks!

Do you feel a good compression while cranking ?You need 3 things to make an engine running;spark,fuel,compression and you seem to have the 2 first ones.

Yes, I just put my thumb over the plug hole, and it seems to be ok... I'm not a tech (obviously) but there's some compression... As I said, it's run great, and after using it for a short time, I just went to set it down, and it quit.... Trys a couple of times to 'fire' after letting it sit, but won't.... thanks for the response!
