Speed and durability are husky the only thing high end on stihl is hype and price

Rope, Don't be mad that Stihl's last 2 or 3 times longer than a husky.
And also have a way better re-sale. You know deep down Stihl is
the best deal in the long run.

That's all I have to say about that.

Over here, Stihl is the cheap brand among Pro saws, but I have only bitten once.....:)

If speed is what you want buy a husky.

Get a Stihl if you want a saw that will last and last
and even one day pass it on to your kids. If you ever
one day need to get parts a Stihl dealer is just down the road. :)

Stihl makes good saws, so I wont knock em. But the pro model Huskys will last just as long. As many Husky dealers around here as Stihl dealers also, so no problem getting parts.

Those that own both always pass the Stihl saws down to their kids...

...because they never get run.

I have pro husky's that cut for years no problems. I bought the hyped up 200T and is parts in 8 months!

But see I use saws for my groceries<a href="http://www.sweetim.com/s.asp?im=gen&lpver=3&ref=11" target="_blank"><img src="http://content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000203FA.gif" border="0" title="Click to get more." ></a>

Well, I have ran Stihl saws for 17 years and have nevcer had one issue with any of them. I also run a Husky or two at the workplace that are good saws. I like the Stihl saws better.
Heck, I run my saws at work just so I don't have to run the Huskys. :hmm3grin2orange:

Don't pay no attention to Rope, he had one Stihl tear up on him and turned on them forever for it. it would still be running too, if he had not dropped it from a tree. :hmm3grin2orange::cheers:

Rope apparently your memory fails you, hehehe

No problems, just a blow up now and then,LOLOL

The 362xp was an attempt to replace the 262xp with a saw based on the 371xp, but it was heavier and bulkier, and had less power than the 262xp - so that one failed as well (even though it is a very good saw)!

I am sure the MS362 also is a very good saw - just not in the top League of the 60cc class, that still consist of the 262xp and the Euro MS361, and nothing else! :)

Also, I am pretty sure that the 560xp/562xp will change that picture!

Hmmmm odd, the last 262 that decided to go side by side with a brand new MS362 in a 20 inch log got its hiny handed to it, yes I ran them both as did the owner of the 262. He like you was blowing smoke beforehand and then had to eat crow,LOLOL He took it well, you will too, hehe

Eight years heavy use is way different than 8 months tom<a href="http://www.sweetim.com/s.asp?im=gen&lpver=3&ref=11" target="_blank"><img src="http://content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000205A9.gif" border="0" title="Click to get more." ></a>

For a man who has only bought one Stihl saw (my assumption based on your post), you sure do feel qualified to comment on them at length. :biggrinbounce2:

No sir absolutely not. Here's why in those 8 years that saw produced many times over its costs. I wish I could say that about everything I have purchased! I don't expect miracles any two stroke going some 5 to 7 thousand hours is close as you can get to one. The 200 may have had a five hundred or so hours the 192 I purchased just after is still doing fine but I sure thought it would be the first to go down.

No need to explain anything to me Rope but remember the life of a 2 cycle chainsaw engine is right around 2000 hours tops, average is 1000-1500 hrs..

to me stihl seems less money; 362 is 650 $ and 357 XP is 690$
and you get .2 more hp
and 362 is newer model
