I'm putting a new piston and cylinder on my Stihl 028 Super AV. I drained the bar oil and fuel, removed all handles and covers, the starter assembly and the air filter; disconnected the throttle linkage; completely cleaning as I went along.

Stupid Question: How do I remove the carb from the rubber manifold? My local tech tells me it should pull right out. The linkage and fuel line are free and clear but it's not budging...

Any advance and tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

You did remove the nuts right?

GENTLY tap it with the plastic handle of a screw driver......the rubber boot is just stuck to the carb body.

Also be careful with the impulse hose

Thanks much. That did the trick

Cylinder off; next hurdle: remove and replace the piston...:sword:
