I've got an old Stihl 041AV. The saw ran perfect for many years, until recently. Then it quit running one day and wouldn't fire back up. I ended up replacing coil, points and condenser (and had to take somewhere for professional assistance to set timing afterwards). I used the saw once, and towards the end it wasn't running up to par. I replaced the plug again and also the spark plug wire. The saw does not have a ton of spark, and no where near blue (light orange) i don't want to chase issues, if this is normal for these. The saw does seem to flood easily, which could be fuel, and not the weak spark (carb is apart too now). Checking the spark plug terminal to any ground is around 5 ohms. Not sure if that means anything or not. Any advice us much appreciated!
 
That depends on the tester.
If the spark can jump a 3/16 ~ 1/4 gap, ign "should" be ok.
Holding a plug against ground and pulling the rope isn't a test.
The carb should have been pressure tested.
It's very hard to find the cause of the leak without. If there is a leak.
 
I did just use a sparkplug grounded, but I did spread the gap to over 1/8 inch.

Any advice or link to pressure testing carb when I get it back together?

As usual. youtube. You need a hand pump. Like a MityVac.
You have to pressureize the fuel inlet to about 8 - 10 psi.
If should hold. The gaskets, diaphragms and needle should be wet
And it shouldn't leak after you fix it. lol
Or hook up a nurse tank before you install it, and let it sit overnight on a clean dry paper towel.
(If you can find one}
You can use the saw tank if you have a way lengthen the fuel line
Either way, leave the tank 1/2 full. Or 1/2 empty
