Summer burning

This thread exemplifies why regulations for OWB's are badly needed. Running an OWB to save $30 per month in electricity and believing burning wood puts the same emissions into the atmosphere as decaying wood shows that some OWB user don't understand the situation they are creating.

got this straight...
killing babies is OK but burning my dead limbs, ugly ends etc. is a sin
 
I guess I must be one of the only ones burning during the summer.

I burn summer wood too. Little balsam fir blocks mostly. Fast and hot fire every morning in an outdoor stove that I heat water on top with. Cut my propane useage in half. I have a special bunker for summer wood with 3-4 years worth already cut and split. This is a well kept secret even among woodburners it seems...
 
I know this is an old thread but...I would rather burn up some junk wood and save the fuel oil. Wouldn't conserving natural resources, becoming less dependent upon foreign oil, avoiding another disaster in the gulf, etc. be a plus in the overall scheme of things?:potstir:
