Got together with some friends at their place to turn this huge ash tree into firewood. County took it down and left it there for the wood. Tree was 27" average on that big butt log. That is a Jonsered 920 Super with a 28" on it. Ran 2 tanks through that, 2 tanks through a 288 and 2 tanks through a 2166. Did 3-4 tanks through the Ariens Splitter as well. Those big rounds all had to be quartered in order to lift them onto the splitter. Plenty of noodles! The woodshed holds 3 cords, (8x8x6), and was empty when we started. We all worked up a good appetite for the beer and chili that followed. IMG_1361.JPG IMG_1362.JPG IMG_1363.JPG IMG_1365.JPG

wow kewl pics thanks for sharing. those noodles make awesome kindling. btw

4 rows of 18" wood?

I wasn't doing the stacking, but that would make sense and equals the 6' depth of the shed. Shed is 8x8x6. 328 cu ft, which comes out to an even 3 cords. Some of it ended up on the porch, and then there's odd sized chunks laying around. Lot's of wood, and a pretty big mess, but we had fun.
