Can someone make a suggestion here? Take a look at this oak (tallest one in the middle):

Its really healthy and grand. Only, the first half of the trunk is covered with dead or nearly-dead thin branches and sticks. I was going to remove all of these and make it clean. I just wanted to check that this was not going to damage the tree.

Thanks!

Dean

Boy the dialuppers are lovin you, fer sure.

Go ahead and remove them; it is a natural process. cut just outside the collar, no rips, etc. and you'll be cool.
