I don't know for sure, but I am assuming that it is the precursor to the P100. If it is, the P100 is pretty well respected as far as I know.

Sorry to say - no proof that it actually is a R40 - and the price is way too high anyway!

I'll probably go take a gander at it one of these days, seeing as he lives about a block away. He generally knows his stuff but its hard to tell with older saws. I'll try to get some better pics for ID purposes

If the parts included are what he says it may be a good deal.

I used mine till it started leaking gas so now its sits till I fix it.

So just bought it at a price I wont disclose just yet, and Saw Troll in the massive pile of spare parts (almost enough to make two more powerheads) there are the original recoil and other parts with R40 stickers.

those jugs are worth quite a bit... i would sell them and keep one for a spare btw that is a mean saw. i own a p100 and let me tell you... if they put that motor in a toyota corolla it would have more torque:spam:
