I need an air box for my 064, I think the round style 066 is the same, i need from carb back.

project update

tonight i moved the boat anchors out of my way.
i decided space was precious and the homeys and poulans had to go. so i set up a table in a protected area outside the main garage.
i shot each with carb cleaner and pulled it over before moving them. 14 are runners. everything to the right of and including the big plastic mac is a runner.

back inside, the stihl operation is still ongoing. in the pic is organized chaos. the smaller saws, 024,026, are on the left and they get bigger as they go right (more or less). these are mostly plastic handled 'modern' saws.
<a ="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view¤t=PICT1829.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1829.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

in the jumbled boxes below are the stihl parts i have sorted and cataloged. each box is a different saw family. it started to rain today so i had to hurry and bring the stuff in, so it sits like you see it.
<a ="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view¤t=PICT1831.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1831.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

the less 'modern' saws are still strewn about and half boxed up. mixed in is a boatload of poulan top-handle parts and the occasional mac. i dread this area of the garage. the bulk of my remaining sorting is in this pic. notice the plastic tote full of carbs at the 3 o'clock position. it looked worse before the saws outside left the room.

volks man, if you have any 046/460 saws let me know...... ps im still waiting on your reply...

Glad you went ahead and got em! You've got a heck of a score there! I'm sending you a PM...

hi guys,
i haven't forgotten anyone yet. ;)
i only have 1 440/460. i have not looked at the oil pump tube yet to determine which saw it is.

on the subject of 066s:
at least one, if not two, of the 066 bodies were involved in a fight with a tree. the 066s lost. some crushing damage to the outer parts. i need to carefully go over these saws, bottom ends/cases/tanks, and see if they are useable. when i do find the first useable one, it is spoken for (you know who you are) and the second might be my new toy.;) :chainsaw: ;)
at least one of them has a broken inner-upper bumper spike hole and another has a damaged poly flywheel.
stay tuned.... as time permits i will be evaluating these and others as i keep sorting.
i have a day job too, you know. :)

well 1 if not two of those 066's are spoken for better make it two just to be safe!

2 steps forward.........

as some of you may know the midatlantic has been pounded by a nor'easter. we have gotten a lot of rain in the last few days.
this has effected the saws project heavily.

out the front door after the rain:
<a href="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view&current=PICT1838.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1838.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

out the back:
<a href="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view&current=PICT1836.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1836.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

next to the garage, after the rain:
<a href="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view&current=PICT1843.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1843.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

the unfortunate effects of the rain on the project:
<a href="http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/?action=view&current=PICT1844.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii150/volks-man/PICT1844.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and so, most of my sorting has been undone. with the water a mere 2 inches from coming in the garage 2 nights ago, i had to act. everything of value went up on some old OSB and jackstands. there is no method to the madness. so, after the flood waters go down a bit i will start over, again.

I suppose it is the same guy who got the 038 fuel tanks?

the 066 line starts behind another guy... he knows who he is.
you fellas are more like 3rd, 4th in line.

bump.............

so whats new?

whats new?
this week i built shelves to store and organize all this stuff. the paint is drying, and i am almost ready to start filling them. several people have asked if i have several parts... i really don't know what i have untill i un-pile everything from the flood and start sorting again.
the shelves will greatly improve this process as i can catalog and immediatly place things in their proper storage area rather than the temporary staging areas that the flood threatened.

this weekend will mean a huge step forward in the process. i should have a grip on a high percentage of what's out there.

stay tuned...........................

remember guys, i am not a sponsor of this fine website. if you need parts, be sure to check with AS fantastic sponsors. without them there would be no AS!!!
