Hmmm, thanks for the idea. Would be a heap less work. Not sure where I'd get it, what it would cost, weigh, etc. Will have a look around online.

. I'd use some heavy 3/4 inch reo mesh and bend &weld it up up into a bucket to fit into the forks

Not sure it's available in that size as mesh....option to use bar and weld...easier to bend but still will require a bit of heat at around 20mm.

When dealing with anything over 12mm I always get the supplier to cut and bend for me.....cheap cheap.

Not poitive what size diameter it comes in, but you can get pretty heavy reo mesh ...be a lot less work fabbing it up than individual bar. I see a lot of smaller acreages using the steel frame cages that come with the 1000l water containers ,that get get used for diesel or water cartage . Heavy Reo mesh being the far stronger option

Happy New year Neil . 090 ,well I was told by a professional cockhead on the 'farm sell swap Aussie Facebook group' exactly this - "I've been using saws for 40years champ, I've forgot more than you'll ever no champ The 090 ain't worth the sprocket of a peewee50". And that was related to my 090av , which is mint low hours & oem with a little paint chip here and there. Australia is becoming full or deadbeat arrogant 'No it all' prixs . But happy New year

Well he's a bloody fool he is, a lot of top log fallers made a lot of money with the 090, they were being pushed out by the time I started and can remember them. Yours is a very good example of the later 090, something to be proud of, and there is a goose on every forum group they just can't help themselves.

The biggest mesh we use in construction is 10mm bar....even at that size we often use bar rather than mesh because it's often more efficient i meeting design requirements re structural integrity.

Once over 10mm required We'll Use bar cause its too hard to work with a sheet of mesh. Hard to move it, takes up 10 times the space of bar for storage and bars just so much more versatile.

You trying to swap your 090 for a bike?

How long should it take for loctite 510 ht to cure please? Been 24hrs and the stuff squeezed out between Base and cylinder is still like it came out of the tube, can still smear it. Doesn't seem like it has cured at all . have I done something wrong? Maybe it needs heat to start the curing?

Not sure I want to keep putting this saw together (my first) in case it has to come apart again.*edit* should have read instructions. Forget I asked.
